Which would you rather do, have an angioplasty surgery or exercise?

Surprisingly – to me, anyway – most heart patients would take the angioplasty surgery. This was true even when it was explained that exercise would actually give better results.

This came from a study done in Spain, but I think the results would probably be the same in the US. After all the doctors need to make a living too. They aren’t going to make any money off of you exercising. They will make a lot of money doing angioplasties.

Another study showed that 90% of heart patients that rode a bike for one year were heart problem free. Of those that had an angioplasty, only 70% were heart problem free after one year.

An angioplasty is surgery where a tiny balloon is used to flatten a blockage in the heart artery. A mesh tube is then inserted in the artery to keep it open.

It has become a common procedure because it only takes a day to do and it is pretty effective.

Still it only solves the problem of that artery and nothing else.

Exercise on the other hand does many things including: preventing plaque buildup in the arteries in the first place. It also lowers blood pressure, lowers bad cholesterol and raises the level of good cholesterol, improves blood vessel lining and helps utilize sugar more efficiently.

Most people however, find it tough to get the recommended 30 minutes of moderate activity daily. Even though some only recommend 3 to 5 times a week it seems most people just don’t understand the importance of exercise.

Obviously, for exercise to correct a problem it will take much longer than a day.

But, wouldn’t it be better to just exercise a little bit every day – and 30 minutes is way too much – and not have to worry about plaque buildup in the arteries in the first place.

If most people realized they only had to exercises a few times a day for 36 seconds each time then maybe finding the time to exercise wouldn’t be a problem.

Wouldn’t you like the health benefits of exercising without putting all the time that most so called fitness experts recommend?

But, you might be thinking – only 36 seconds.

Yes, 36 seconds. And this is based on your own body’s physiology or how the body works.

Now you won’t here this from your exercise gurus or fitness trainers. Why not?

Well, how are they going to make any money if your program is only 36 seconds long?

How are the supplement companies going to make any money selling energy drinks and recovery drinks if you only do a few 36 seconds exercise bursts a day?

Simple answer is they won’t. So they will never promote such a thing and they will probably bad mouth it every chance they get.

But, you can’t get away from human physiology. The body is designed for short bursts of exercise. Almost all sports are based on short bursts of exercise.

The most muscular and strongest athletes compete in sports based on these short bursts. Long marathon session (like running a marathon) athletes have a less muscular structure. And for most it isn’t the healthiest way to go.

For more on information on this kind of exercise burst program and how it can work for you even if you haven’t raised a sweat in years, then check out the link below.

Then you won’t have to worry about angioplasty or finding the time to exercise ever again.
