Avoiding teacher burnout is a major concern of all mentors. Whether teaching elementary, secondary or tertiary, in a form or another, this will haunt you finally put a stop to your profession. The only thing a teacher can do is avoid its early inception.

Everyone knows that teaching is one of the most stressful among all professions. Tasks and activities accumulate almost every day. And the only thing a teacher can do is to overcome it successfully.

Burnout is characterized with features that disrupt humans in their physical and emotional aspects. When you're already exhausted and feel you want to leave the profession, this is a clear indication of exhaustion. Remedy # 1: Do not bring your school work at home. The first thing to do in order not to deplete your profession is to establish a line of difference between home and school. Work as much as possible should be retained and included in the area where it belongs. For cases of unfinished tasks, you can always do it the days after. But if time may be in short in terms of completion that is the perfect opportunity to bring it at home. But bear in mind not to do this routinely. Learn to separate what should be done at school and what must be done at home. Leave the teacher in you at school and be someone different in front of your family.

Remedy # 2: Leave your problems behind at school. Are there any problems you've encountered in your workplace? Did these affect you tremendously? If so, as you walk slowly towards your front door, leave these concerns instantly. Do not succumb to these thoughts when you will spend time with your family. You for one will be affected and such will be reflected and seen. Remember that your work day is over and you too deserve a little fun and relaxing quality time with them. If there is a need for you to share, you can do such with your spouse or parents. But the talks must be discreet so as not to affect other members. They also have concerns in mind to begin with.

Remedy # 3: Have some "me" time at home. The "me" time can be anything you surely can while you are at home. It is also a good way to forget, even for a short time, work-related concerns. Furthermore this is an opportunity for you to enjoy yourself and be relaxed. Switch to your favorite show, music station, or treat yourself to a delicious and pleasant dinner and a relaxing bath. You will surely feel rejuvenated after doing all the things you love most.
